What you can do?

- Search & apply for vacancies

- Get personal assistance in your job and training search
Good to Know
- It is mandatory to register to VDAB to be an active job seeker
- VDAB offers a variety of FREE, very useful vocational trainings in many different sectors to find a job.
- Check VDAB page for highly educated other language speakers (HOA) "Hoogopgeleid en anderstalig" for info in Dutch.
Agentschap Integratie & Inburgering
Who?
The AgII is the public integration agency of Flanders.
Where?
Flanders except Antwerpen (see Atlas),and Gent (see In-Gent), Brussels. Find an AgII office near you.
What you can do?
- Get orientation for learning Dutch
- Follow an integration program(in your mother language) and get your integration certificate
- Get personal assistance for applying diploma recognition
Good to Know
- It is mandatory to register to AgII and follow an integration program for recognized refugees in Flanders
- By registering you are reimbursed for the Dutch courses.
- Integration certificate is a condition for applying for citizenship later.
Fedasil
Who?
FEDASIL is the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers in Belgium.
Where?
Arrival centre is in Brussels. Total 60 reception centres in Belgium. 22 federal centres managed by Fedasil. Others managed by partners
What you can do?
Good to Know
- Asylum seekers are exempted from paying the fees of language courses at adult education centres if they prove it by an attest from Fedasil.
OCMW
Who?
OCMW provides a number of social services including financial help.
Where?
Every municipality or city of Flanders has its own OCMW that offers a wide range of services. Find an OCMW near you.
What you can do?
- Get financial help (if you have no income)
- Get reimbursement for learning Dutch
- Get personal assistance in your job, study and training search from OCMW employment department.
Good to Know
- As a recognized refugee, you can get financial support (leefloon) from the OCMW of your municipality by making a contract until you find a job and being active (language learning, training, active job seeking) is also mandatory condition for that.
CVO
Who?
CVOs are the Centres for Adult Training in Flanders.
Where?
Brussels and all Flanders.Find a CVO near you.
What you can do?
- Follow Dutch courses
- Follow an integration program(in your mother language) and get your integration certificate
- Get personal assistance for applying diploma recognition
Good to Know
- CVOs offer a wide range of Dutch courses (e-learning and face-to-face), both day and evening and even on Saturdays.
- CVO Dutch courses can be reimbursed by OCMW, AgII, Fedasil or some trainings can be reimbursed by VDAB.
SYNTRA
Who?
SYNTRA is the specialist in practice-oriented, trendy trainings for enterprising people
Where?
5 training centres with 22 campuses in Flanders and Brussels. Find a SYNTRA near you.
What you can do?
- Follow a variety of vocational trainings
Good to Know
- SYNTRA trainings can be reimbursed by VDAB.
